How to Open an Account for Qatari and Non- Qatari investors at the Qatar Exchange
Individuals and for Minor applicants:
In order to open an account you will need to fill out a copy of the New Investor Application Form which you can find either on Qatar Central Securities Depository (under Application Forms tab), visit Qatar Central Securities Depository Building or at one of the brokerage firms listed below
- 1- Qatar Central Securities Depository: one of our staff members will be happy to assist you to open a new account at the customer service counter. Once you complete this, you will get a National Investor Number (NIN). You will need this NIN to open a trading account with a brokerage firm. Full contact information for QE licensed brokerage firms can be found on our website under the “Brokerage Firms” tab.
- 2- One of the following brokerage firms:
NOTE: There are currently 11 licensed stockbroker firms at QE. the above-noted six have separate arrangements with QE to initiate the NIN account opening process. If you choose this option, the broker will provide the NIN account opening documentation and request the supporting documentation and the trading account can be opened at the same time. Once this is completed, the brokerage firm will be in contact with Qatar Central Securities Depository to finalize the account opening process.
Please take note that this fast-track procedure is not valid for minors’ accounts. Qatar Central Securities Depository also reserves the right to refuse to open the NIN account if the supporting documentation is not satisfactory.
